T61P will most likely show up right after Father's Day. IBM Marketing will try to squeeze a few sheckels out of the market with their current sale of non-P machines, as their home page splash screen now suggests. When they updated that marketing campaign on Monday morning, everyone should have anticipated they would not release a new product the next day - particularly without again changing the splash screen to promote it. We're stuck with the current product line thru Father's Day.
-
How do I get this thing to quit calling me a Newbie. I'm 87 years old, for gosh sakes.
-
That was random.
-
-
I'm just not as excited about a T61p since they squashed the IPS screen. Too bad. Now all I'm left with is the X61t.
-
Lenovo added a new T61 model today (14.1 WXGA w WWAN), but no T61p yet. I still believe T61p will follow the current Father's Day promotion on the Lenovo Web Site, due to expire - I will hazard a guess - on Father's Day?
-
-
They released another 14.1" laptop with a dedicated video option. However there still isn't a 15.4" with a dedicated video option. Lenovo you frustrate me.
-
sooooooo mean!!!!!
-
Waiting, waiting, and waiting...
-
1920x1200 15.4" Widescreen? Crazy
-
I have a dell 15.4 wuxga and I think it's perfect. But I am sick of waiting for the t61p. I am going to pull the trigger as soon as there is anything with a high resolution and a dedicated graphics card.
-
I have a 15.4" WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050) and I think text is waaay to small. I sit right in front of my screen and have perfect vision and I find myself enlarging text in firefox (ctrl +) in order to read it better. The extra screen real estate would be nice though.
-
-
I have UXGA+ on my 17" Dell and it's perfect, I would love to see it on a 15" though. I am sure there's some utility to it!
-
If you don't read a lot and do design type work it would be nice. For reading, I don't know, probably for people with superior vision or who don't mind small text.
-
-
For any kind of graphics work, the high resolution of a WUXGA screen is really a welcome change.
But for surfing the web and doing any kind of word processing, especially on a 15inch screen, working with WUXGA is just asking for trouble. -
I don't care what screen they release - just release something soon, please!!! I want the T61p ...
No, actually I just hope for a bright screen. -
-
I used to have a 21" with SXGA+ (1680x1050) before I bought my T60... and now I am wishing I had a WUXGA (1920x1200) for my 21... because i've gotten so used to the size / scale of everything on my 15.4" T60's WSXGA+'s screen hehe... although I must say though, WUXGA on a 15.4" ... i dont know if i could get used to that lol
-
I ordered the 60p on the last day of the Memorial day sale. It was supposed to take 3-4 weeks to be delivered.
I was sort of hoping to trade out for the 61p when avail.
They shipped it 3 days later and it just got here today. I don't want it.
Called Lenovo. Salesman was very nice and helpful. Said to receive it (or I'd get a 15% restocking fee for shipment refusal) and let me know he had a list running of people who wanted the 61p and would contact me as soon as they were avail. He expected the 61p to be avail around the end of this month or first part of July. -
yet another conflicting report
can we trust ANYONE at lenovo? -
I don't think we have or ever will hear two Lenovo sales reps quote the same release day for the T61p. By now you should know that some of the most misinformed are those who work for Lenovo and deal directly with the consumer. Can't really blame them really, they only know what they are told, which is essentially nothing of value. Someone up the corporate chain knows something, but they are likely at headquarters in China. If you want some information with validity, seek your contact there.
-
I understand that if you accept a package, you will be charged a restocking fee. However, if you refuse it then it will go straight back to lenovo and they won't charge you. In fact, I believe they charge your card after you sign for it. (Atleast that's how dell did it for me).
-
not true
they charge once is ships -
-
Pretty quiet in here...
-
Why did you have revive this thread? It was dead. LET IT DIE.
If you want to post about the T61p look at the sticky. There are cute pictures of cats in that thread too. -
never revive a old thread...this thread was one of my worst nightmares...i want it to leave my memory!!!!!!..dahhh...too late...
-
If I had to guess (lol) I think we are looking at Sept. with the new 7800 CPU... I REALLY hope I'm wrong as I need to get a laptop by end of July/early Aug at the latest and REALLY want the t61p.
Oh.. well - keep waiting. -
I was kind of hoping there was some updated news. The 60p has gone back. My dell has gotten sick and is bordering on death. I'm laptopless and in need...
At this point it's probably a race between Dell's 1330 and the T61p, whoever gets it out first will get my $. -
I spoke to a UK Lenovo sales rep and they believe it will be available mid July, so kinda fits with other posts which say July 10th.
-
Stop just STOP reviving this thread.
-
Post in the Info Regarding T61p or whatever it is called thread. Not this one.

why in the world did you resurrect this thread?
-
I guess because you can buy the T61p right now? ;p
-
This thread it titled "less than 2 days till T61P Launch". It is misleading for newcomers to see this thread when it is bumped to the top. It is annoying for the rest of us that have been aware for a week now that it has already been "launched".
Please let this thread die. -
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=2029920&postcount=73 OP's first post on these boards. Dude's been high maintenance for Lenovo from day one. Got a 60p in less than 10 days and all he can say is "I don't want it".
-
That is just the icing on MonsterMaxxs cake. That is just wonderful. -
He can run but he can't hide.
Less than 2 days till T61P Launch
