The shipping date they give you online can be a misnomer. I was trying to wait until the ragged edge, maybe a couple days before my 5/17 Shipping Date to cancel and order the T61p, and they pulled a fast one on me, shipping it out on 5/12, so I could no longer have them cancel the order and keep the box in HK.

It seems if you've ordered a T60/p waiting for the T61p to come out, you'd better cancel now to be safe and not have to pay the extra 50-100 I'm going to pay to ship this T60p from San Diego all the way out to Durham, NC. Bleck.

They tend to overestimate shipping dates to ensure they can get to you before then. Getting it early is not new.

Why would you wait to cancel if you knew you didn't want the computer?

It seems you might have to cancel much sooner than that. I tried to cancel my order (May 11th) for a T61 on May 16th. The ship date is 31st of May and they were unable to cancel the order. I was told that my order was too far in the configuration process to be canced. They also told me on the 17th of May that my order should be shipping "shortly", but it still hasn't shipped.

Lenovo will be paying for the return shipping since I canceled before the notebook shipped.

if they try to pull bs, then just tell them you are doing a charge back, and shove it. be sure to have all your documentation that they havent shipped.

In my other thread I mentioned that I ordered on 5/14, I canceled on 5/15 and it wasn't OFFICIALLY canceled until 5/22
