    Hi guys,

What is the lightest weight combination for the t400? I've read the configuration (obviously)affects the weight but im not sure which are the heaviest components. The only thing i am bothered about is performance (assume 4GB ram and possibly SSD), whats weight of SSD vs HD??

    edit: would go for 3.06GHz

    thanks

Main contributer to weight difference is the battery, make sure you get the 4-cell. An SSD would also give lower weight.

not having the optical drive helps, and 4 cell battery is also advisable if you want to save weight. The weight difference between the SSD and the regular platter drive is minimal like maybe 50 g.

do you need the dedicated card? the t400s is thinner and lighter, albeit more expensive.

hmm.. removing the ultrabay and inserting an empty cover would help u lose some weight.
is 4.9lbs too much for you with a 3ghz machine?, *like you're fighting for every 50g
