When I try to connect to the internet, it says that I am connected with limited connectivity. How do I fix this? I know it's not the router, as my vista laptop connects without a problem. I purchased my computer with an Intel Ultimate 6300 wireless card, if that matters. It's a professional 64bit OS.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
If you are on the latest drivers and it is still not working; I would try:
- Resetting TCP/IP (elevate CMD, type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew)
- Flushing the DNS (elevate CMD, type ipconfig /flushdns)
- Resetting Winsock (elevate CMD, type netsh winsock reset) -
I tried out your suggestions and the problem persists. The computer is right out of the box, so maybe I need to do an installation of something?
I ran the intel diagnostics test and everything passed except for the Ping test (thought I'm not sure what that means) -
Is this just on wireless or do you get the same problem on an ethernet connection as well?
-
I haven't tried an ethernet connection, so as far as I know it's on wireless.
When I look at the little map of networks available through the Thinkvantage app, my network is the only one that shows up as a "g" rather than "n" network if that gives you guys any useful info. -
Could you run ipconfig /all in the Command prompt and post the results here? Thanks.

For some reason, your WiFi card is unable to obtain an IP address. Do you have DHCP service enabled on the router or do you use a static assignment of IP addresses?
-
Like BlackLion said, make sure your router has DHCP available, make sure it's not doing any kind of filtering by MAC address or anything. It's probably worth resetting the router.
Lastly, I'd uninstall the Thinkvantage wireless app. I find the Windows version to work MUCH better. I think some of the Lenovo blogs have even mentioned that this app is outdated an no longer all that usefull. -
how do I check if DHCP service is enabled/if I use static assignment?
this is so frustrating because my old laptop has no problem connecting (uses vista) -
got it to work. This is how:
Connected my ethernet cable to my laptop, which was followed by a few loading bars indicating that an IP was being assigned, and then the internet turned on. I then disconnected the cable, after which my wireless still didn't work, so I went into Control Panel>>Network and Sharing Center>>Manage Wireless Networks.. I highlighted my network, clicked remove. I then reconnected, entered the WEP key, and now it works.
Not sure what was the key to making the connection click, though I suppose it may have been connecting by ethernet and having an IP assigned directly, but all that matters is that everything works fine (rebooted just in case). Hopefully this helps someone!
