    Hi guys,

I'm going to buy a T41p and i was wondering about the Port Replicator. As i'll move my laptop a lot between home & work, i'd like to have an easy way to plug it @home (keyboard, mouse, ethernet, usb hub with few devices, hi-fi etc...).

I looked over the net to get pictures of this Port Replicator and the only place where i did find some is the following :
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=778461&Tab=1&NoMapp=0

My wonder is that i do not have a screen @home and before buying this Port Replicator i would be sure that i can use it, laptop opened ;)

Does anybody here owns one ? Can you give me a clue :)

Thanx in advance and excuse my english, i'm from france.

    See you

All port replicators support using the notebook with the screen open. It is not assumed that you will have an external monitor. With everything going USB these days though, I question the value of a port replicator. If you get a USB hub, you'll have to plug in two things, a USB cable and power. If you really want it, by all means go for it, I'd just think about it pretty hard before dropping the dough.

With educationnal program here in france the Port Replicator costs around 100$.

I'll certainly plug usb devices (printer/camera/mouse) but keyboard (not usb), speakers and network cable at least too. So i think it will save my time as i'll do this every day. I'll certainly purshase two AC adaptors too so i can have one in my backpack, the other staying at home, plugged on the port replicator.

Thanx for your answer Brian :)
