Sorry, I posted this on the software forum but got no reply, so I repost it here. Hopefully someone can help :)

My Lenovo Thinkpad X200s uses Windows XP Pro. It has two problems involving the power (I use it at home with AC power, not battery):

    a) Recently, after going standby mode, when I needed to wake it up, it takes an unusually long time, more than 1 minute, to come out of the standby mode.

    b) Since a long time ago (not aware when it started), the power options that I had set seem not to be working. E.g. I had set the machine to go standby and to turn off hard disk after 15 min being idle, but after hours (sometimes I was out all day expecting to come back to find its hard disk off), the machine was still on (video downloading apparently went on for a long time), not even in standby mode.

    What could be the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

Thanks for the reply. I followed it and downloaded the power manager and power manager driver, it solved part of the problem: waking up from standby is quicker now, however the timed standby still doesn't work. Set the computer to go standby in 1, 3, 5 min, it didn't go. The only way is to manually let it go standby. The screen does turn off at the set time.

Any more tips? :( Could it have to do with XP, or Thinkpad?
