I am in love with this notebook. Looking to retire my XPS 1330. I am not happy with the heat, cpu whine, and build Quality. Going to let my girl take over payments and this will become her new primary notebook. I am not looking for anything super powerful, I have a [email protected], 4GB ram, 4850 in my desktop. This will be my companion machine where I do work, some coding, lounge on the couch etc. Here is my configuration. What do you guys think?

    P8400 2.26GHZ
    2GB DDR3 Single Stick
    WXGA+ LED
Vista Basic-already have XP Pro and Vista Business
100GB 7200RPM Drive(do not need the extra space, rather have better access times)
    ATI 3470 256mb Card
Intel 5100- no need for fast N as I never do large transfers over wifi
    6 cell
    1 year Depot

909$ pre tax, 986$ with tax and shipping

That looks good, are you using the CPP/SPP or student discounts? That seems a little expensive for not adding much. I agree with the XPS1330. I was about to buy that but couldn't take the risk. To much inconsistency within Dell.

I recommend the LED display and the 5300 over the 5100 as it’s a much better 802.11n card. Also, remember only a 64-bit operating system will be able to use all 4GB of RAM…

No need for the 5300, 5100 is plenty. Also I am getting the WXGA+ LED. Prices comes from the CPP site.
