Hello:
I recently bought a T61 that came with Vista Ultimate. I ventured into installing Windows 2008 Server on it.
I have been almost successful in my attempt. The machine does operate and I was able to use the Vista drivers to configure the components.
I compare the Device Listings under Vista and under Server 2008 and I see the following missing components:
Bluetooth Radios
Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator
Disk drives
IMD-0
Human Interface Devices
Bluetooth Remote Control
HD-compliant consumer control device
IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
IDE Channel
Monitors
ThinkPad Display 1440x900 (mine says Generic PnP Monitor)
Network Adapters
Bluetooth Device (Pesoanl Area Network)
Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)
SM Driver
SM Bus Service
System Devices
UMBus Enumerator
The good news is that the laptop works fine as a Server. If I could resolve these missing components, it will be nice.
I searched through Google but I don't seem to have any luck identifying the drivers. And, of course Lenovo Technical Support said that they do not support that OS on this laptop even though I have proved them wrong!)
Can somebody advise me?

Server 08 is a different beast than Vista. Same way with Server 03 and XP. Sure they were similar but so are chimps and humans. But most of us don't mate with 'em. You might be better served by running Server 08 on a virtual machine or get used to not having BT, etc. until they make the drivers.
Edit: Here is a link to someone else trying this out.
2: And here is a previous post discussing this.
