    Looking for a HDA Audio Bus Driver

    Apparently the new thinkpads are a bit tricky when you install a fresh copy of Windows. A lot of the hardware drivers are not included with the OS and need to be backed up before installing the fresh copy.

    Well I didn't do that. I recovered most of the thinkpad drivers from Lenovo's site. But I'm still missing the main HDA audio driver. I looked into the matter and it looks like the only way to get it is to get it from someone who hasn't already formatted their hard drive.

    Can someone please upload a copy of their 888111US.exe

    In their: C:\IBMTOOLS\drivers\UAAHDAXP\XPSP2

    I figure since there are so many new t60 users here that someone has the file. Thanks, an upload via megaupload or yousendit would really be appreciated.

    Other than that, I'm excited to say that I'm very happy with my new thinkpad. If anyone else is having thinkpad hardware problems, I'll be around to help people.

    Come on. No one has their copy of 888111US.exe on hand? It should be included on all new t60 computers. I guess I can always call for a recovery CD...

    And one more thing. I'm looking for one more driver. IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers yeah there's one called PCI device and I can't figure out what that device is. What is it? I don't know if it's safe to uninstall the device.

    Eventually I have succedded to install the audio driver on my T60p without having the 888111US.exe, by using Lenovo's software installer. This software checks the Thinkpad for missing (or outdated) drivers, then downloads and installs them automatically. You can select which drivers to actually install. I did this only for the audio driver and it worked smoothly. I have previously tried to install the audio driver manually, but it wouldn't work without the 888111US.exe. So I guess the automatic installer actually downloads and runs this program.

    Hi guys I tried downloading the file you guys posted and intalled it. It looked like it completed the instalation but when I tried to update the driver it didn't locate what it needed. Can anyone help please.

    hmm, i already installed the kb888111.exe for XP SP2.but when i tried installed the audio driver for my R60, i still receive the "HDA Audio Bus Driver is required and not found". any idea on how i can fix this problem?
    or maybe can anyone upload the "kb88111" which is working or mail it to me [email protected] .thx in advance
    n btw glentium, the "system update" or "software installer" fails to solve this problem =/

    You need to grab a Windows update before it can find the HDA audio bus. A bit tricky to get working, but if you install Lenovo's System Update or Package Manager software, it should work out almost automatically... Once you've got that Windows update, it'll be able to detect the HDA, and use the driver
