    Hello,

I've checked ebay, craigslist and Lenovo outlet...any ideas where I can pick up a mint T60p with 15" flexview screen? There were a couple on ebay a few weeks back none to be found now...

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Marketplace at ThinkPads.com is probably the best place. However, you will probably have to pay a fair premium there because most of them know how good FlexView is.

I'd say you pay more of a premium for the honesty, which has a lot of value. I'd rather pay a little more and know what I'm getting than be focused on getting the lowest price. They tend to be much more honest about what they're selling in the Marketplace forum on ThinkPads.com than eBay, where the sellers are often vague. That's not to say you can't find good deals on eBay, but it's so hit or miss. A little luck doesn't hurt either.

I myself bought two R60s in the last few months. The first was DOA and not what the seller said. It looked cobbled together from various R60 parts. I had to dispute it with the CC company. The second was a fantastic deal. It was in great shape and still under warranty. Best of all, I paid a lot less for the second one. eBay favors the patient. I'm sure if you hang out for a bit, you'll get what you need.

Thanks for the advice. Just looking for a good laptop with flexview. My T61p 14" 4:3 just isn't cutting it and I just got the W500 UXGA and I'd say the screen was marginally better, but not like "wow" better. So maybe I'll have to take a step backward...

If you can you may wish to seek one with some warranty left. The T60p models can have heat issues. If it's still under warranty, you'd be eligible to upgrade the warranty the warranty for a couple more years. It's getting to be the time when the UXGA models warranties are going to be expiring because I think there only one or two UXGA T60s offered with the UXGA and the Core 2 Duo. I could be overestimating here. The rest were SXGA+ screens.

Thanks...they seem to be in short supply (can't find one) as of yet.

Thinkpads.com is a great thinkpad site, wish we had something like that for Dell. Great site to buy and sell on too.

The Flexview thinkpads are rare and expensive. A guy I knew last year in college sold his T60 for like $400 (regular T60) and bought a T43 with Flexview for something like $600 or $700.

eBay exists to sell things. There's no fraternity like here or on ThinkPads.com. As long as you know that, you'll do a lot better.
