I'm about to start summer classes at collage and I need a new ultra portable. My budget it around $475~500.00 dollars and I've narrowed it down to a couple picks.
My first pick was the Asus 1215T, honestly it's good enough for what I need. Then it was suggested to me that I bump on to the 1215N for just a little more which is the dual core Atom/Ion combo.
However, then I was told that the Atom/Ion combo was sorta already dated and to check out the Lenovo X120e or the HP DM1 or whatever it is with the Fusion processor.
I really fell in love with the looks of the Lenovo. I know the HP is a little more of a machine for less money but the X120e is just very professional and Lenovo has a good reputation.
So, my question is to those of you who own them. How do you like them? How to they preform for you? Is there any reason why you wish you had gone with something else?
Also, I need this quick, I plan to order it tomorrow and it sounds like Lenovo has kinda dropped the ball and supply and demand. Everyone's ordering them like mad, they can't supply them fast enough.
Are there any retailers who stock these other then ordering directly threw Lenovo?
I want the X120e with the E-350, any other features I can worry about after the fact. I kinda want the Bluetooth and the 6-cell battery but I can always order those later.
Any help would be great with any of my questions. Thanks guys/gals!![]()

There's lots of X120e available via google or eBay.

A member of another forum I frequent, and a longtime Thinkpad fan, posted his review and unboxing of the X120e here.

He seems to cover all the bases. If I were in the market for a Netbook, I'd definitely have the X120e at the top of my list. -
been using my colleagues vaio netbook before this and the keyboard was horrible. tried the X100 in a shop and it was fantastic!! plus i wouldnt touch an atom powered device. simply too slow for me -
On another thread someone said he ordered from Provantage and it got sent within a day. The cheapest E-350 configuration marked in stock there is this.

I was going to order directly from Lenovo because Newegg.com doesn't seem to have these but if this dealer has them in-stock and ready to go hell, that seems like the way to go! Price is a little better too.
I planned to buy the following:
X120e Base $399.99
Upgrade to E-350 + $39.00
Upgrade to 6 cell battery + $50.00
Add Bluetooth + $20.00
I was at $509.99 right there plus those include the 320GB hdd for $492.99!
The place looks legit, looks professional and it's in Ohio, I'm in Michigan. Can i assume they are well known? I've never heard of them but I always order from Newegg. -
Well, I placed the order from that Provantage place.
$504.08 shipped to my door. I just put the same configuration into Lenovo's shopping cart and the total was $629.00. Can't complain about that at all! Plus, being in-stock hopefully it doesn't take 17 business days to ship like Lenovo's page is saying when you order from them directly!
Now I just need to upgrade the RAM a little bit. Crucial.com says it takes 4GB max, but I keep reading these can take 8GB. Is there any advantage to running 8GB on this over 4GB? I'm going to be running W7 64bit and I mean hell, 4GB sticks only run like $10 dollars more then 2GB sticks anyway. -
If you want a business-ready netbook, I'd say the X120e is one of the best you could get.
If you want a business notebook, however, I'd look at the X or T series. -
d'oh!! if i'd known about that place maybe i'd have gotten the x120e.
oh well maybe its a good thing i didnt.....gave me a good excuse to blow my budget and go for an x201 -
im not sure of the disadvantge of unmatched ram tho.
if you can get it cheap just get 8gb to look good. but i think it liekly to be overkill.
Looking for a new Netbook, thinking about the X120e. Questions.
