We purchased a T60p about a month and a half ago. We have had issues with the wireless connection from the get go. When the computer is first turned on it will connect to the wireless network and show a strong signal. But as time passes, 30 to 45 minutes, the connection signal slowly just dies. When it does this I can be sitting right in front of the router and CANNOT get a signal. If I can, it shows to be about 15% and I cannot reconnect. We have two other laptops in the house though, sony's, and I can connect from just about anywhere and the signal is maintained.
So I thought I might open the T60p and make sure that the wireless card is connected good. If that does not help I guess I need to call Lenovo.
I should have the Atheros card in this laptop and that is what I ordered and it seems from reading here that is the better one.
I am running XP Pro with 2G of ram.
I would appreciate any help you might be able to share.

    Thanks,
    Lon

I also have a t60p and I have some problems with the wireless card. I have the atheros 802.11n card, and my main problem is when I put the computer in standby and revive it later and I can't get any wireless signal. I think that it has something to do with the fact that I am switching between wireless routers (an office one and a home one). The only way I know how to fix it is to restart the computer, which is really annoying. I'm also running xpp, and I read that there is a new driver out for the n card, so I'm going to try installing that.

The hardware maintenance manual, located on Lenovo's website will explain how to take apart your notebook.

You should make sure you are not getting interference from a cordless phone or something else. Have you called tech support up yet?

mtor and Kebs, I have not called tech support yet. I wanted to try making sure the card was in tight first.
mtor, this issue is seperate from the one you mention with the wireless phone and I am aware of what that will do. Pick up my wireless and all the laptops in the house go dead.
ZaZ, I will look for that manual. Thanks.
mbathman, I will have to keep an eye on it and see if this happens after going into sleep mode. That is an interesting point and one I am not sure I have checked out.

Thanks, would appreciate any additional thoughts if they are out there.

The same thing happened to my T60P when I first got it. I would not be able to connect to the wireless internet after about 30 minutes of usage. I would have to restart my computer every 30 minutes to get it to show up again, which annoyed the crap out of me. However, after about a month, the problem went away. I'm not sure what I did to make it go away, but it eventually did.

Sorry I'm not being much help! Just wanted to let you know that I had the same problem and would be interested in hearing how you fixed it. :)

As mbathman suggested, there are several new drivers on Lenovo's web site that seem to address this. I have downloaded them, but have not had time to try them out yet. I will get back with the results.

Well, so far so good. I downloaded two new drivers for the wireless and the access control. So far has been working as it should which is great. It has gone into hybernation, standby and screen saver modes and the wireless has always been there after wakeup. Signal seems to be stonger than before also.
    Hope this continues.

I have been looking around for an answer to this same problem on my new T60P.
Were the drivers you mentioned downloaded via thinkvantage update or were they standalone? If standalone, were they on the lenovo site?
