    I'm looking to buy T60 WS 15.4 but I find it only on ebay. I prefer 1280x800 with avg processor power and dedicated video. How secure is to buy one in ebay and what I need to be aware of? Is there any other place where I can check?

    Thanks

    Just curious why it must be a T60, if you don't mind me asking? (to save $ I assume)

    I have a T60, and like it just fine.

    Could also be for the IPS FlexView screen.

    They are no longer in production so you will be searching for excess inventory or through black market like eBay.

    Go fishing, and put up a Looking For message in the Marketplace. Someone may be on the fence about selling and bite.

    I like the build quality better than T61. That's why I'm looking for T60. The price difference T61 vs. T60 is so small that it doesn't worth mentioning. I think that Lenovo is saving quality materials on the new laptops.

    T60 Build Quaility is much better than the T61 to me. Others Laptop owners have noticed my T60 vs. a T61 (lots of Starbucks - comparisons). You also get a Magnesium Cover/Lid on the T60. It feels more solid. T61 Cover Looks/feels like the old Dell Synthetic Plastic!!

    @Sircas
    Exactly T61 feels really cheap. I assume that the rolling cage they introduced is just an excuse to use cheap plastic. In my opinion the magnesium cover is match better and for sure more expensive.

    Magnesium lids hurt wireless connections. The addition of the rollcage solved this problem.

    Does not hurt my wireless connections. The T60 has two antenni s Front & Side (Pretty Cool looking).

    I purchased the T60 over the T61 due to the Front Magnesium (Metal) Cover/Lid and other Noticable Build Quailities.

    What do you mean it doesn't hurt? Have you done a comparison against a T61? This is only what I've read from an article.

    If you don't mind buying from Canada, Central Direct still has several models of the T60 new ( www.cendirect.com).

    You've made me feel better about my T60. I bought mine after the T61 had been out for quite a while (bought it on clearance at local store, cause I loved the screen, didn't want to take a chance on that). When discussing my choice on this forum a lot of people mentioned the T60 didn't have a role cage and kind of slammed me for not getting the T61 instead. At the time I had never touched a T61, and didn't realize the T60 has a magnesium cover. I can say it sure feels solid to me. My wireless strength is fine.

    You could consider getting a T61 on good sale, and buy the extended warranty from Lenovo, so you don't worry as much about quality. Pricey approach, but at least you'll know you're covered for a long time.

    I still think the performance advantage of the T61 shouldn't be overlooked (my T60 only has a T5500 processor). Bootup is slow on my T60, with Vista Business, but I haven't taken the time to do a clean install (do it when you first get it, so you don't change your mind later after you've installed a bunch of stuff like I did). One of these days I'm getting a 7200rpm HD and will do a clean install then.
