    Hello,

I'm looking at the IdeaPad Laptops and a 15.6 screen w/ a 1600x1200 resolution. Glossy would best. Must have very good battery life and not a resource drainer. So any suggestions?

Well, first of all, 1600x1200 is a 4:3 resolution, which is not produced anymore. 15.6" screens are 16:9 aspect ratio, so equivalent screen resolutions would be 1600x900 or 1920x1080. The 15" and below IdeaPads, however, are not offered with a screen resolution higher than 1366x768, so you may be out of luck in that department.

Alternatively, you can wait and see if the new generation of IdeaPads come with higher-resolution screen options (doubtful), or you could look at the Lenovo Thinkpads. The T510 and W510 both have 15.6" 1600x900 and 15.6" 1920x1080 screens options.

    Yup what MidnightSun said.

Unfortunately the jump from 15.4" to 15.6" meant the introduction of 16:9 screens. 16:10 is getting hard to find these days..

With the T510/W510, you aren't going to get amazing battery life even with a 9 cell battery.

The T510 battery life is okay with the new optimus system, you can get another 9 cell add on battery if you need more battery time. The W510 battery life is lot less due to the CPU and GPU it uses.
