Hey everyone, with these new Lenovo deals that have popped up, I'm considering a Thinkpad for the first time in my life but there's some things I can't figure out.

    1) What is WXGA +TFT? The Lenovo site describes it as: "WXGA: Widescreen XGA Resolution: 1280x720,1280×800, 1440×900, 1280x768." So how do you know which resolution you are ordering?

    2) How does the 128mb NVS 140 rank up against the mobile geforce cards, is it below an 8400GT/GS? I know it's geared towards openGL applications but as an overall comparison, where does it stand.

    3) I'm also looking at the R61 and I can't seem to find a different between that and the T61?

    4) Is it possible to order a T61p with a 15.4" 1440 x 900 resolution? It doesn't show that as an option http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/webca/LenovoPortal/en_CA/catalog.workflow:category.details?current-catalog-id=12F0696583E04D86B9B79B0FEC01C087&current-category-id=EDF9B632F1BC41729ACCB25B2F44E097

It's come down to the Lenovo T61 or the Dell XPS m1530 for me... but with all the bad screens being shipped from Dell I'm thinking about trying a Lenovo - any insight would help! Thanks..

    3. The 14" R61 AND T61 are basically the exact same thing.
The R61 is just a little thicker and bigger due to it's normal sized optical drive. The T61 has a ultrabay optical drive, making it thinner.

    1. WXGA+ is 1440 x 900. TFT makes the screen brighter I think.
    2. Lol I don't think it's above the NVIDIA Geforce 8400. Don't take my word though.
    3. Well, thing is. The R series is known as the low-end business notebook (otherwise, budget-business) and the T series is the full-fledged business notebook. And they do cut out some of the features between it and the T61. Look at the guides on this site for reference.
    4. If it's not available, I guess it's not, huh. But u know what. Wait a while and they might add it.

If you go with the 140M video card, then you'll get about ~3hr45min.

If you go with the integrated X3100 video card, you'll get about ~4hr45min.

The amount of battery life you get depends on your power settings as well.

Yes, the 7 cell sticks out the back of the laptop, as does the 6 cell battery.
Only the 4 cell does not stick out the back (about 3 hours and 15 minutes of battery life).
