(Title's a bit misleading but can't edit) I've been shopping around for a used Lenovo laptop, an older T60 or so, that I can mostly use for general computing but also play games on from time to time. Wondering if anyone has recommendations on what video card configurations, etc. to avoid and what to look for... I was just about to buy a Dell M1530, but I have no interest in going through all the garbage associated with those Nvidia cards...

Seems like X1400 is the best bet for the T60, but is X1300 okay too?

The best GPUs offered on T60s would be the V5200s on the P models. I suppose to some degree it will depend on your needs.

I can't give you much direction here, other than to avoid X3100 cards if you plan to run any recent 3D games.

So, X1300's a no-go? I'd really like to find something for $800ish or less used, and have found some T60s with T7200 and X1300 GPU in that price range... again, I don't care about being able to play top of the line games in 2010, just some decent gaming, something better than my integrated dell card that won't go to hell on me like a M1530 might.

    That's an oxymoron: "Gaming Thinkpad"...

I play modern games on my T61p with a Quadro FX 570M which is basically a GeForce 8600M GT.

    Not so much.

Their "business" GPU's are just as good as their "gaming" counterparts.

x1300 meaning radeon? X3100 is intel. Think there was a little confusion. The x1400 was a midrange performer when it was new, a decent margin better than the x1300. Try looking for a used T61p though...

Noted, I did mix them up a bit. Still, the OP is also asking about a T61 with a T7200 CPU and ATI X1300, which does not exist, unless I am very mistaken...

    I wouldn't recommend ATI x1300 or x1400. The 570M is worlds better.
