Just thought I'd ask here if there are any good online deals for this lappy? I know there was the previous B&N deals but I don't think they are available now. Thanks guys. :)

The B&N discount isn't great right now, but it's still there, and it's still better than the standard "discount". The vanilla x230 starts at $680 on B&N and $750 on the main site.

Ok I'll give it a look. Do I just go here and register? I don't need to be a student or staff do I?

Yeah, B&N discount is the way to go. The lowest I have seen for an i5 and IPS screen was $707. That was two months ago. Now it's about $60 more, I think.

I am waiting for one at $700 or less.

Yea, just sign up. No other requirements. Also if you're looking to save some money you could look into a refurbed X220.

If you don't mind the one year warranty, there's a new i5 X220 with the IPS and nine-cell in the outlet for $650ish. I've seen the i3 with IPS and six-cell in the $500 range, but patience is probably required to get that deal.

I'd scope out the lenovo outlet for a few days and constantly check back. they have great x230's brand new for good deals. better than if you were to configure it on your own on their retail store.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm going to pick one up via B&N discount. It's about $100 less configured with the B&N than the Lenovo direct deals.

    WEAK SAUCE!!

So I placed the order for an x230. The estimated ship date was 09/28/2012 as stated by the website. However, after placing my order the estimated ship date under my order detail is now 10/18/2012 :(

Has anyone that ordered received a ship date for a few weeks and actually got it shipped earlier? Just curious...since I'm a little disappointed that I have to wait nearly a month to receive this lappy.

Lenovo has the WORST shipping tracking and customer service. so... yeah not sure if itll ship earlier or later.

People used to wait six months or longer for certain configurations of ThinkPads back in the day. A month doesn't seem so bad. If you really need it, you could order a pre-configured model, but that will likely cost more. Pick your poison I guess.

WOAH Crazy! I guess I just answered my own question :) To my surprise I received a shipment notification. It's currently in Shanghai and the estimated delivery date is now Oct 04th. Helluva lot better than Oct 18. Looks like they are pumping these CTOs out. I guess I better order that msata drive tonight

B&N is now offering 25% discount on x230 as compared to 20% last week. I've heard that it usually goes up to 35+ % during some holidays and is the at best price on Black Friday (I'm willing to wait for another 2 months).

Any body remember whats the best discount they have seen on B&N recently and also last year for say x220 around Black Friday.

I'm calculating based on the current "web price", but it looks like it was 30% when I got my T430 a few weeks ago.
