Is the 200783U for 2500USD just a steal..or is there more to come in the way of discounts?

It was 2699 effectively 4 weeks before 2850 USD.

15" T60p is not discounted, it is still $2,749. Only 14" and no IPS are on sale (who would buy that?)

Bran - not sure why you think the T60p isn't discounted...it clearly shows it is on the lenovo site.

    ThinkPad T60p
    200783U
    Sale! $2,499.00*
    Web Price $3,379.00*
    Ships within 1 week**

For some, the 14" screen is probably a bonus. I personally like a 15" screen, but if I was traveling more, I'd sacrafice 1" to reduce size and weight. When I'm in the office, I always work on my Thinkvision L200p LCD and my T42p in dual monitor mode...so I have tons of screen space.

    that is the catch!!
there are zillions of different T60p out there.

One that I have in mind has 15" IPS FlexView screen and max out other components. That one is always $2,749, i.e. not discounted.

Others are discounted (low level ones). Good ones are not discounted because everyone wants them!
