Just got it today. It's still charging so I'll get some more pictures later.
Edit: Added more pics

And of course, the misaligned stickers.

Here are some LCD comparison pictures. I got the Samsung WXGA+. I don't really see too much of a blue tint, but it's a bit dark and dull for me. I don't know if this is because it's the Samsung screen or because it's a laptop screen compared to desktop screens.
Left: Westinghouse 22"
Middle: T61
Right: Dell 2005FPW
The Dell screen has better colors than the Westinghouse.

Now I'm comparing colors between the T61 and the Dell.

Also, I got the Chicony keyboard. Honestly, it's too springy for me. It's almost like I have to force it down so I constantly miss a letter here and there because it didn't go down far enough. Hopefully, I'll get used to it.

Thanks for the high quality pictures. What camera were they taken from?
-
Canon A610.
-
-
Does that battery pack feel solid?
-
WOW! Thanks for the pictures - awesome! Congratulations. I'm green with envy - maybe they'll get around to putting mine together one of these days.
How did you get the IBM logo? -
Wow, congratulations on your purchase.
Thanks for the pictures. Looking forward to your future comments. (If you don't mind me asking, could we get some feedback on battery life, the screen, and real-life performance of the NVS 140M? )
And Ari_M, the IBM logo has been retained for consumer and small business lines while the new Thinkpad logo appears in corporate purchases. See http://www.lenovoblogs.com/insidethebox/?p=85 for full details. -
BTW, is it done charging when the blinking stops? I wish they would have just used color LED's so I don't have to stare at the damn thing for 10 seconds -
I have a T61 too, and it only shows a yellow battery LED when full battery, orange when nearby empty and a another yellow LED for if the adapter is connected. Not blinking at all.
-
-
Many thanks for the clear pictures! It's interesting to see what it's like inside the box. Is the box easy for one person to carry?
-
I believe you can find the answer to your question here JaeZTT http://www.lenovoblogs.com/insidethebox/?p=79
-
Sweet! Thanks for the pictures.
I cannot wait until I receive my T61.
-
-
I love the smell of a new thinkpad in the morning!!
-
Thank you for the great pics!
Hopefully I will be able to do the same when I get my T61. -
nice strip tease, i like how you flashed both ram chips. classy yet tasteful. lol. jk. Nice pictures.
-
How many languages is the manual printed in?
-
-
One on the left (WiFi)
And on the right: power, battery, charger
And sometimes the HDD LED blinking. -
-
-
glad you like it man
-
Interesting, you have a Core 2 Duo sticker, mine says Centrino Pro. Nice pictures!
-
-
Added more pictures and some thoughts.
-
I wanted to ask you - was there anything bundled that mentioned / included the UWB? The Personal Ultra Wide Band USB adapter?
Oh, and awesome pics too ^.^ -
-
I think comparing laptops to desktop LCDs is apples to oranges. Hopefully your keyboard breaks in soon (it sounds perfect to me - stop by your neighborhood BestBuy and play with all the mushy Toshibas and HPs to compare.) -
One pet peeve though, is that I don't know when my battery is fully charged since the LED turns solid from 80% - 100% of charge.
Oh, and I need to somehow get my price match. -
That is so weird - I remember in the T61 config something about a UWB - something related to Wireless USB and something about a USB adapter... strange @.@...
-
-
btw did you get the wxga or wxga+...and if so, is one brighter than the other?
-
I got WXGA+. I think WXGA+ is brighter.
-
Goodness, your computer is so clean. I remember the 15 minutes when mine looked like that
-
That Vista Home Basic sticker is painful to look at on such a nice ThinkPad.
-
Incredible pics, thanks for sharing.
Yeah colors and lighting uniformity leave a little to be desired, but yours looks pretty good compared to mine. -
Great photos! And thanks, nice to see some more real world shots.
Is that an Antec P180B I spy in a corner somewhere? That's the chassis I have, love it to bits -
Good eye. That is the 180B with the plastic cover still on.
-
Just put in the 2 gigs of ram.
-
how's the battery life for this baby?
I know someone that can get this for me for $13XX after tax (the 766417U) model, retails on the website for $1800. But i heard the battery is bad, could you also post the game performance on this, ty! -
I played CS 1.6 on it, and there was 0 lag. But then again, CS isn't exactly the performance hog.
I keep forgetting to test the battery. I think I'm getting around 2.5 hours with normal use. However, I played Counter Strike with 20% battery left, and it went down to 5% in 10-15 minutes. -
Ohh i see, thanks for the quick reply, you have the 7cell battery right?
2.5 is not too bad, but yeah, the battery life is the only thing keeping me from buying this, cause i'm in places where i most likely won't have access to an outlet, so I need at least 4 hours of battery life.
Is it true the T61p is a little bit more easy on the battery? -
Well, I had mine on max performance. I think you could get 3.5 hours if you're really trying to save battery. Or you can buy the ultrabay battery for ~$80.
I think the T61P uses more battery since it's got a better GPU and bigger screen, but you can also get a 9 cell with it. I don't know if anyone has tested it yet, but I doubt it'll be much more if any. -
I can't customize mine cause its' a package price, so it comes with a 6 cell only, it's $1360ish CDN, after tax, so it's the sweetest deal though.
-
6 Cell vs 7 Cell isn't that different. You can buy an ultrabay battery separately though, so you would be able to use the 6 Cell and the extra 4 Cell.
-
I probably won't be getting the ultrabay battery, i rather have the dvd thing in. but yeah, great laptop, only weakness is the screen and battery life i guess
, but nothing's perfect, i'm probably going to get it, since it's a very good price
-
Uhm, what's up with the screen bezel? Am I seeing it wrong, but the screen bezel curves at the top but not on the side? I thought the Thinkpad screen bezel made it so when closed it was completely 'sealed' as such. Looks different, but it might just be the lighting or the fact that it's early morning
-
-
they should have made the screen nicer
, worth the extra 50-100$ imo
Lots of pictures of my T61 14.1"
