Well I was comparing it to a desktop LCD, so it really isn't fair. The screen isn't that bad, but not as good as some laptop screens I've seen before.

I cannot help but wonder if one of those exterior screen calibrations units would help the colors immensely.

I have always threatened to get one of those just on general principles. I think they are somewhere around $100.

    Just my 2 coppers.

    Sweet machine!

I got the same computer for $1800. It's worth it at $1800 and certainly more so at $1200. You're gonna love it.

Congrats on the purchase. I also got a pretty killer deal on my T61.

And I also don't have a clue if this thing has a mic. Does anyone know?

Ah, I was thinking that looked like a mic. I think I need to set it up though. Tried it in Counter Strike, but wasn't working.

Did you order it through the normal route (i.e. website, but with a larger discount), or did you somehow like bypass the line?

Just wondering how is the palm rest, i noticed at a retail store that it is very flexable and it has like a dip in the middle on both sides of the mouse pad.

It's not rock hard but definitely not very flexible.

On Lenovoblogs.com I see a lot of people complaining about Blue Screen (BSOD) issues. Has anyone who received T61 recently, seen it?

Or do you have any other reason for not recommending T61 to any new buyer?

(I am debating between T61 and 1520. Leaning towards T61 for price and XP support)

That BSOD problem is already solved. You have to delete the iAstror and iAstorV parameters from the register. It's also on the Intel site. Maybe it's not even necessary anymore with the new drivers. ;)
