I've noticed that volume on the headphone out on my X201s is pretty low. Surprisingly, I'm impressed by the loudness of the single external speaker.

    Anyone else notice this?

Go to Control Panel>Smart Audio (Conexant's own module in your CP)>Levels icon (lower left, left-most icon)>Click on the big pair of headphones. This disables the automatic volume limiter. That'll probably help.
