Does anyone prefer the low res screen options on Thinkpads? I've used the 1400x1050 14" and the 1600x1200 15" screens before and I found everything to just be too small. So I made sure to acquire a simple 1024x768 in my recent T60 purchase. Unfortunately, it's a TN panel.

Does anyone make an IPS 1024x768?

nope, and AFIK the only IPS screens in a laptop are high res units in the Elitebook 8540W and 8740W ( Dreamcolor 2 panels )

You always can adjust DPI to accommodate your eyes.

The 12" XGA on the X6x tabets has a pixel density of 105, which is probably the lowest you'll get.
