I'm assuming the reason it's no longer an option is because Sony bought IDTech?

Are you talking about Flexview? They still have that.

MaxBright was the 300nit 15.4 1280x800 screen they offered on the Z61M. It's no longer an option. As somebody who was considering a Lenovo for the solid build quality and excellent keyboard but who would use it for primarily entertainment purposes, this was a key selling point and a total deal breaker if it really is gone for good.

I remember reading a few weeks ago that Sony bought IDTech. IDTech is the company that was providing the MaxBright screen to Lenovo.

I just called and confirmed that it will no longer be offered. That takes Lenovo off the table for me. Peace.
