I received the X1C with the 256 GB SSD. I was considering on using a 128 GB SD card as further storage. Would anyone happen to know the maximum SD card size that usually will work in the SD card slots? I have a 32 GB in the slot now which works well. One other question is whether a SDHC or SDXC 128 GB card would be better? Thanks.

I thought you couldn't get 128 Gb with SDHC's? Either way I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work.
I'm using two 64 Gb (due to a shipping mistake) so it should work if you can afford it -
They have 128 GB SDXC cards but you are right that I do not see SDHC cards for sale. They look exactly the same and I think the 128 GB SDXC are commonly used in video cameras. I am thinking of getting the Sandisk Extreme 128 GB SDXC ($130 at Amazon) but wanted to make sure that they would work in my X1C before I bought one.

Actually quite curious about it too. I wouldn't mind having a 128GB SDXC card, especially for the right price on black friday or boxing day. If anyone can prove it works, let us know?

I'm using a 128GB SDSDX-128G-X46 just fine in mine.

may i kindly ask if you'd mind telling us what speeds you are able to achieve with this card IN the X1C please? thank you.
i believe that you should be able to achieve around 45MB/sec, as Sandisk advertised, but then there are read and write speeds, which are almost invariably different. -
Also it's a steady 30MB/second in a usb 3 SD reader. Disappointed with the speed but it's just for music anyway
edit: update - 45-50MB/second reads in a realtek card reader in another laptop, highly likely to just be a driver issue on the ricoh in linux -
Can anyone using an SD card in their X1 carbon comment on whether it sits flush to the side or whether it sticks out?
Thanks. -

Thanks! That looks pretty flush.
