Just spoke on the phone with a customer service rep at Lenovo, and the two model numbers I gave him got me 1 answer. He said that they would be available for sale on May 30th. The model numbers were the Z61m 9452-9NU and the R60 9462-72U. I can only assume that means the rest of the R60 series and Z61 series will be available then.

Any idea if the addition to the z series will boast perhaps an x1600 or something greater then the x1400?

According to the pdf I got from Lenovo's site, Z61m can be had with X1400 or GMA950 while the Z61t only gets the GMA950. R60 and T60 both have similar offerings, nothing I can see in the catalog has X1600. Though I wouldn't really expect Thinkpads to ever go that far.

T60p has the FireGL V5200, which is just X1600 paired with ISV-certified drivers. I really hope the z60 series gets a "p" version at some time, since I would love a widescreen ThinkPad workstation.

Even with EPP those FireGL-based T60s are expensive. Just looked at the cheapest Top Seller and it's $1,839.20. Too rich for me.
