...I'm wondering if I should have stuck with XP. I've already ordered my T60 with Vista Business, but I'm thinking I should go out and buy a copy of XP Pro just in case I want to dump Vista.
All you people with pre-loaded Vista T60's, is there a hidden Vista recovery partition on your systems like with systems running XP?
-
mine is xp too.
there should be a recovery partition for a vista preloaded machine.
You may want to call the rep and tell him to change your machine to xp, if it's not shipped yet. Because you will receive a free vista biz anyway. -
I tried Vista and there was nothing I was impressed with.
-
Well, it's supposed to ship tomorrow. The last thing I want is to delay delivery. I wonder if systems shipped from Lenovo with XP are eligible for a Vista upgrade now that Vista is shipping also. I can see the pre-configured systems you get on the retail market but not CTO's now shipping.
-
I think the Vista upgrade program expires March 15.
-
Yes, March 15th is correct:

You can probably try to order T60 recovery disks.
I find vista pretty good except the driver for the video card does not work, and installing it made my computer get BSOD, but then my video card is old. Vista is like in a premature stage or something. -
Well, some people do manage to like Vista, so you might be fine.
Don't buy it until you're at least sure you want to dump Vista. If the impossible should happen, and you end up liking Vista, it'd be silly to have already wasted money on an XP license...
My T60 (bought a week or so ago) came with XP, so no clue. But I'd definitely assume so. Why wouldn't there be? The alternative is a recovery CD which costs more for the manufacturer.
Maybe I should have stuck with XP
