Media Card Reader in T61 14.1 (4:3)???

Dear All,
I ordered a T61 with the normal (4:3) 14 inch screen (yes, with the 25% off + the 20% off USPTSERIES14 coupon) . However, after ordering I found out that it does not come with a firewire port. Now, I have learned that it doesn't even come with a 4-in-1 media card reader. Is this true? If it is true that there is no media card reader on the system, I want to cancel my order.

But my system has shipped from China and I don't know how to cancel the order and avoid restocking fee at the same time. Please help!

 

You're right, it doesn't come with a reader, but you might as well get one of these:

And know that you can swap it with something else instead of having the expresscard slot occupied forever.

Nope, it doesn't come with firewire (there's an IR port instead) or a 4-in-1 media card reader (but you could just use a pcmcia or express card adapter).

I'm not exactly sure how to cancel your order at this point. You might want to dig around the Lenovo forums for some posts of people who've canceled their orders.

But at the moment, I believe the smartest thing you can do is just wait until you receive the notebook, then call up Lenovo for a RMA number for a return. It's absolutely important that you don't open it so you don't get hit with a restocking fee.

Because I am not getting a firewire and I am not getting a media card built INTO the system, I guess I will cancel my order and go for a T61 15.4 widescreen instead. Too sad, I cannot get everything with a 14.1 inch (4:3) T61. I am not a big fan of widescreens.

I will be getting back $50 mail-in rebate for the printer and 4% cash back from fatwallet, and 2% cashback from my credit card. What do you guys think of this deal?
Am I still eligible for the fatwallet cashback, if I used the EPP discount?
Does the WSXGA+ screen on a 15.4 inch widescreen shrink things (text) down too much? and Finally, has the build quality of the laptop been affected negatively after lenovo took over IBM?

Answers to any of my questions are highly appreciated.
