    Hello,

I have a R500. By mistake I ordered it with 1GB RAM. I want to get 2GB additional RAM but I am not sure what would be completely compatible with what I have.

On my order it says I have: VBB 1GBPC3-8500 1067MHZ1DIMM
    I wanted to buy this: 2GB PC3-8500 1066Mhz DDR3 SODIMM Memory

    https://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary...-category-id=20A0DF223E104135B445F3A1A8CE1F31

Do you think the two will be completely compatible? Any other suggestions?
The speed seems to be the same, but I don't know what the DDR3, SODIMM and 1DIMM mean.

    Thank you,
    Omer

PC3 8500 and 1066HMz are the same thing. They are compatible.

Thank you for your informative replies. Just to be on the safe side I wanted to ask, does a standard R500 have place in it for 2 memory cards together?

Thank you for the movie, I am a not sure if i will open my laptop and put memory by myself.. I think I will bring it to a lab.

Yes, it does have 2 memory slots.

It is relatively more challenging than laptops with an easy access panel on the underside, but it should not be too difficult to do by yourself. If you have a more tech-y friend, I'm sure he/she would be glad to help you.

It shouldn't be that hard to do. Here is a Crucial 2GB module at Newegg for $42.99 with free shipping.

    Best,
