I know that IBM Thinkpad T42 uses DDR SO-DIMM memory modules but what are the exact specs for the compatible memory modules? Or does every DDR SO-DIMM module work with T42?

There are many 512MB SO-DIMM modules in this Finnish online store but only product number 16279 has a text that says it's compatible with T42.

I have used Kingston and KingMax in my ThinkPads both worked fine. ThinkPads use PC2700 DDR memory. You can use faster or slower memory but it will run at the lower speed. If you use an off brand it will slight increase the chances it won't work. Good Luck.
