First of all, I know hardly anything about hardware on computers.

I ran Geekbench to see what my y460 would run and I saw this... Flickr Photo Download: Lenovo Ram

It says I only have 3.8G of Ram(doesn't bother me) but it's only running at 667MHz. Lenovo's site says this: 4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz

Am I missing something here? Or is it just Geekbench giving false information?

Sorry if I made anyone dumber from my stupidity.

You have 4 GB, but due to the BIOS mapping out areas to access devices, not all is accessible. This is quite usual.

On the speed front, I suggest you try CPU-Z or HWINFO32 for detail on the memory modules installed.

Both tests came back to 677MHz. So did Lenovo just screw me over?

DDR3 SDRAM - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Is it pc3-8500? You might be reading the I/O bus clock. There is no 667mhz ddr3

If that's the I/O bus clock than that mean that it is PC3-10600. Can you post up a screen shoot in cpu-z

You have 32 bit Windows 7, you need 64 bit to fully use 4 GB of RAM.

You won't know for sure what the speed of the RAM is unless you open your computer and take out the RAM to look at what it says on the RAM module itself.

    Flickr Photo Download: CPU-Z

Whenever I go into memory on CPU-Z it just says how much memory i have thats it. And I'm running on a 64bit Windows 7 by the way.

It seem like you have a DDR3 1333 the 667 is I/O bus clock. Check my wiki link.

EDIT:667*2 to get the data rate
EDIT2: However since you have a i5 the data rate is limited to 1066mhz

Additionally, the 3.8GB of RAM is because some is being used by the IGP.

I have no idea what that is. :p But I only use 1.5GB to 2.0GB on a daily basis, and have even considered installing a fresh 32bit seeing that i will only lose a couple hundred MB. I just though that I was being taken advantage of concerning the speed, but it turns out I'm just stupid.

IGP = integrated graphics processor. (It's referring to the [likely] Intel Graphics chip in your computer)
