Merom is gonna hit store shelves by the end this year.
Does anyone else think about merom compatibility with existing T60s? I think Lenovo enginneers might issue updated bios for Merom for existing T60 system boards to ensure merom will be working fine on Yonah based T60's motherboard if they share the same Calistoga chipset.
Any one else shares the same opinion with me ?
    Thanks in advance :)

Yes, most laptop manufactureres, i think will be releasing upgraded bios for their laptops to support Merom.

What about bios updates to T40-series to support Merom?
But won't doing that and changing the processor void the warranty!

The Pentium M and Core Duo have different sockets. Yes you will void your warranty. I don't see a bios update from Lenovo as too likely.

It's also possible that they'll have it for their corporate customers who request it, but not release it publically. If that's the case, you might just have to call and ask nicely.

There is a very good chance it is already supporting it. Lots of other core duo systems have had meroms popped in, and they work off the bat with no mods what so ever.
