I installed Vista Ultimate Upgrade on my Thinkpad. I got this off a friend of mine from his office. Turned out to have an invalid key! It won't even login, I'm through with it now. I want to go back to XP. I restart, hit thinkvantage and all I can do is go to the bios screen.
How do I reformat XP from there? Did I lose the thinkvantage button? Do I need a new windows dvd? I don't have any recovery cds![]()

Well when you installed Windows Vista you most likely deleted the recovery partition that the thinkvantage button uses. Your best bet is to order yourself a set of recovery DVDs from IBM (Lenovo) and use those.

Or hopefully you burned them off before putting on Vista.

Can't do that, didn't do that either. I'll just buy Vista and fresh install it.

I think this is also a solution, someone from Thinkpads forum was kind enough to help out.
Messed up my Thinkpad, thinkvantage button after Vista?
