    hi Everyone,

I have a T60 notebook and all of a sudden my mic stopped working. It was working fine the day before and then the next day when I tried to use gtalk it was not working. I have windows xp home and the sound card is soundmax.

I tried to factory restore it, and it redid everything but there was an error in the middle that the factory restore could not fix. When it was done the mic was still not working.

Yesterday I took out the restore cds and ran those on the laptop and it aslo went through all 6 cds but in the last cd it kept going through the installation process and restarting and doing the same thing over. I can use the laptop but now some of the icons are not opening when I double click on them and the mic is still not working.

    Are there any suggestions?
    Thanks.

YEs the mic is unmuted. I didn't select anything under primary recording device, it is already entered from the factory default.
