So my new t440s is just one week old and I got two BSODs already. Both times the laptop was stuck at the boot screen. First time the problem was somehow resolved, but now I can not load windows. Boot menu keeps rebooting and that's it. What should I try?

It's likely to be a hardware fault unfortunately

Factory install or did you re-install on your own?

I tried to Refresh Windows, but it told me that my drive was locked.
So I had to Reset everything, and had to reinstall all my apps, etc.
I am glad I keep my documents in the cloud... Already ordered m2 drive, to put it in the laptop and install ubuntu on it - at least I will have some backup OS is something goes wrong again.

Every time when I restart my computer, it is stuck at the boot screen, and the only way to fix it is to turn it off, by pressing the physical button, and then turning it on the same way.
I feel like next time when I buy a laptop, it will be Mac
Or I hope that Linux will solve this problem

If you're having problems like that I suggest sending the machine in for repair (preferably in its locked state) to get a new drive installed. It might be simply a bad HDD and nothing to do with Windows.

Beachball of death and Kernel Panics are just as annoying. especially with software conflicts or hardware issues just like any other computer. I am just boxing up a retina 15" and an Air 13" with bad SSD's to send back. and I DONT have the option to have Apple send me parts like the business class units will

SSD passes all tests without problems.
Overall the laptop works great, except that strange bootscreen problem.
I updated BIOS and it did not change anything.
I can not send it anywhere for repairment because I need computer right now and will leave the country in two weeks... Hopefully, that's a software bug.

I had the same problem with my T440s. It even happen after I restored the system using the recovery files. I did a clean install with a fresh copy of Windows 8 and the problem went away.

I had a similar issue with the Samsung Series 840 Pro SSD and the Lenovo factory image. Installed Windows 8.1 from scratch and haven't seen any issues since.

I have the same problem again. I did not install fresh Wndows 8, just restted it to the factory image. So I guess there is a problem with that. :/

Sounds like someone botched the image. Probably one of the "value added" programs or technologies.

    Hi,
I have a similar problem : My T440S is often stuck at lenovo logo while booting... Not each time, but quite regularly. It happens only once. then if I swith it off by pressing the physical button, and back on right after, it works all the time.

Have you found a solution for this issue ?

    thanks

Did you upgrade yours to 8.1? or did you leave it at win 8?
