    My middle mouse on my W500 is hit or miss on working. If it doesn't work I restart the computer and the chances are it works. It is quite annoying. I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

    Try uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers, or undo any edits that you may have made to the synaptics touchpad files. If the button works on restarting, chances are it's not a hardware issue.
