I switched my Samsung SSD for an Intel SSD. At the moment I cloned the drive and it is running ok. I have heard however that a clean install is recommended due to alignment issues (no idea what that means).
My question is, which one of the following installs should I perform:
1. Clone the old Samsung to the Intel. This is the current situation and it works ok.
2. Use the Thinkpad recovery media - 3 DVDs - that I burned.
3. Use another Windows 7 DVD to install windows, and then download drivers and apps.
Thanks.
Oh, fyi if you're looking to do a similar switch make sure you have a HD caddy and rubber rails (plus screws) because the Samsung SSD is a 1.8 variety and is encased in it's custom made caddy that is NOT compatible with 2.5in drives. I was lucky I had an X60 on hand (which now is smoking fast btw). The caddy/rails/screws are available on Ebay as a set for $6 shipped.

Sounds like you are already running fine. I would look at Windows, TRIM and other SSD Mysteries - Keith Combs' Blahg - Site Home - TechNet Blogs and review some of the results with yours.
Migrated to another SSD - How do I install Windows 7?
