With my T400 in the Mini Dock and the coax digital audio out connected to my onkyo receiver, every time the computer tries to play a new sound, there is a pause in audio and the OSD volume bar shows up. It's as though it is re-initializing every time a sound is played. Anyone experience this?

Media player or built in windows sound? Need more info. What OS XP/Vista? Which thinkpad? What media player? Type of sound?

I have a vista 32bit t61p hooked up to logitech z5500 speakers via the coax connector and do not have any sound glitches. The only issue i have is that the logitech speakers do not start decoding DTS or Dolby automatically the first time I play a DTS encoded wave file or AC3 track. Turning off and on the speaker with the remote quickly solves the problem.

I've not had the OSD volume show up like this.

I am running Windows Vista x32 on a T400. The instance occurs regardless of program running, weather it be windows media player or the simple "click" noise when navigating different web pages in internet explorer.

So everytime a windows sound occurs the green bars at the bottom of the screen show up? That is very odd. I'd fix that issue first before troubleshooting the onkyo or docking station. If you change the default playback device to speaker, does that OSD display stay off everytime you get a windows sound?

You may want to consider reinstalling the sound drivers if this is the case.
