Dunno when this happened, but I've been holding off until USB3 was included:

    Mini Dock Plus Series 3 with USB 3.0 - 170W (US/Can/LA) | 433835U | Lenovo | (US)

Cheapskates. Only one USB3 port, still has 6 USB2.....

Question: not familiar with how these function, I have a high res 27" monitor connected via displayport. Does the dock (with it's single DP) allow me to drive a second monitor? Will the video card (Quadro 1000) on my W520 be able to drive two monitors at 2560 x 1440?

They just replaced eSATA with USB3.

MiniDock Plus Series 3 has 2 DP, but if you run hi-res monitors, you may end up connecting one of them to DP connector on the W520.

Please bear in mind the following. Even though the Lenovo xx20 series notebooks have USB 3.0 on board, putting them into the new Series 3 w/USB3.0 docks does *not* activate the dock's USB 3.0 port. This port *only* works with the new xx30 series .....

Where did you find it as a single link dvi? I have this dock and I'd like to know this as well. From the look of the connectors, they seem to be dual-link DVI-D.

Really? May I ask what you base this statement on? Not doubting, just want to be sure as I've waited almost a year to get a dock, solely hoping for more USB3 ports....

    Are we talking cross-purpose?

    from the Lenovo "overview"

    "Mini Dock Plus (90W & 170W): 1x VGA, 2x DVI, 2x DP
Many systems allow for two of these video ports to be used simultaneously. Select systems, including those with NVIDIA Optimus technology, allow for up to three video ports on the dock to be used simultaneously."

My interest is in using 2 DisplayPort connections at the same time - did you confuse DP for DualLink DVI?

My mistake. Each DVI corresponds to one DP for one video output, so for two outputs the two displayports can be use at the same time.

I have a T530 connected to a Thinkpad MiniDock Plus Series 3 w/ USB3 433835U and when I connect external sound system through the docking station I get alot of clicking noise from the speakers, however when I connect to the T530 directly no noise. The clicking noise seems to happens before and after alert tones
