    Missing things after clean install

    Hello all,

    I did a clean install, and all went well
    but I'm missing several things:

    1. modem driver
    2. on screen lcd for volume and sound
    3. the menus the apears when you press Fn+F5/F4

    what should I install for this ?

    I followed the clean install routine
    of installing my own copy of winXP

    its just that I don't find this utilities in Lenovo's update software

    two things left (I think)

    I don't have the dialog on pressing Fn+F7
    also, when I switch the HDD back to AHCI mode
    windows wont load

    As I understand you had vista originaly?
    Did you look for xp drivers on link I provided?
    Whats your model #?
    Did you search the forum using your model # to see if others have the same issues?

    You need to install the Intel storage driver and the Hotkey driver controls the on screen displays.

    thanx for the quick replies

    No I had XP pro installed
    but I thought it would be easier to install XP from scratch

    the only thing missing now is the screen on Fn+F7

    A clean install and not restoring keeps the bloatware off

    I tell you its a long way to install it like this
    with Ubuntu I just had to wait for the installation to end and everything
    was working ... what a days :)

    what is intel amt ? do I need it ?

    I don't think that you need remote management

    Ok, now everything is working
    but for some reason its still finds new hardware PCI
    but I don't know what it can be

    bow I see that it seems no to find driver for the secondery bus IDE

    what driver is it ?
