I've been looking to purchase a new notebook and noticed that the ThinkPad's have several different model numbers for the same notebook. Looking at the model numbers of the r51's, t41's, and t42's, what are the differences in the numbers and letters? What should I look out for regarding the model numbers?

Maybe my question is way too broad and nobody wants to write a long explanation, I understand. Specifically, what is the CTO model? I've try to find it on ibm's website but had no luck.

Go to this link and find the link to a file called tabook.pdf, it has all the detailed specs of each thinkpad notebook.
