Does anyone know when Lenovo does its model refresh? I need a new laptop, but I would sure hate to purchase one now if a refresh is looming.

Usually Lenovo refreshes their model lineup a few weeks after Intel releases their new line of chipsets. "Ivy Bridge" is the codename for the new set of chipsets and processors and from various sources this will be available around April 2012 assuming there are no delays.

I'm a bit conflicted. I need a new laptop in March, but it sounds like the refresh will be coming pretty soon. Do you guys think Ivy Bridge is worth waiting for?

I am in the same boat... I've purchased and cancelled a number of times leading up to now... I'm in hopes the T4xxs series is refreshed in a way that makes it worth the wait.

Somebody has to keep the Outlet site stocked. :D

Regarding the question of timing, if this is a personal purchase I would wait. If it's a corporate purchase and the budget money is going to evaporate, buy now.

Just keep in mind if you purchase when they release new models, it may be a month or more before you actually receive the laptop.

LOL! Well, hopefully they never made it to the pull parts phase of the build... I was put off by the LCD mostly... Hoping for higher res better quality... I will have to use this rig for a couple years so I am not entering into it lightly.

As to how they feel about me, hopefully the three personal TP with me now would count for something ;).

If a higher quality LCD panel is a must for your next purchase, and a ThinkPad is required, then I think you already know waiting is no guarantee.

On the other hand maybe Lenovo will make an Ultrabook with the 15.6" FHD screen.

    Dreams are free.

I would like a HD+ 13 incher, but I'm willing to settle for a 14 incher. The T420s is very high on my list, but I have something to get me through... So, I'm awaiting its replacement.

If Lenovo delivers a 1600x900 screen that is a high quality Flexview IPS or something good, I'm down for it. I hope they do that on the X2.

Well, the Ideapad Yoga already has a 1600x900 13.3" screen, so they are almost there.

The screen on the Yoga is also an IPS screen, which is a double plus. Just hope that the predecessor of the X1 get the screen treatment.

I would like the X220 refresh to have Ivy Bridge, thunderbolt port, and SLB2 screen panel instead of SLB1 (The LG P220 display impressed me more).

Wow, I didn't know the Yoga had a 1600x900 IPS screen. It looks like a really promising product.

    13"
    1600x900
    IPS
    3.2lbs
    8hrs battery life

I don't care about it's convertible nature so am hoping these specs make it into a Thinkpad with a matte screen- or that the Yoga is built well and has a good keyboard. Maybe I won't extend the warranty on my X220.

I will be if they choice not to put the IPS screen on the refresh. Frankly, they can source the screen and adding it into Thinkpad would be a snap for them.

I just hope that Lenovo will finally push out a laptop that absolutely need to have.
