If I purchased my Thinkpad T61 less than a month ago and I see a better price now on the Lenovo site, would I be able to call and ask for a refund on the difference?

    Price Protection
If you find a lower price within 21 days after your purchase, you can call to get a price match done.

Do I have to call within 21 days or could the price have been lower during those 21 days and I'm calling afterwards? (It's been about 25 days) What about after the 21 days, anything?

I think it is 21 days after your laptop is shipped or your credit card have been charged. You can still make price adjusments. You might be given a new ESD though.

does the price protection policy still work if you buy through a reseller (like cdw or costcentral)?

There is no price protection if you purchased through a reseller.

Price protection is NOT a policy, it's a way of preventing returns based on the sole reason of price fluctuation. This means that you can scour the Lenovo website for days and you'll never find mention of it. It is a courtesy and not a requirement. Personally, I don't understand why Lenovo offers it, considering that most people will forget about the lower price a few days ago when they call to return based upon that reason and are slapped with a 15% restocking fee. LOL!

But price protection works like so. Set up a quote (and the quote number) within 21 days of the order's invoice. Call the *sales support* line and advise them that you have a quote for a lower price for the identical system. Make sure that the system is identical down to the part numbers. If something is off, NO MATTER WHAT, you will not get the price protection. If, on the other hand, everything matches up, the Lenovo sales representative should file what is internally known as a "QBA". Once these requests are filed, they take about three to five business days to process and your bank account to be credited. I hope this helps.

    Oh, forgot one thing!
Price protection does not apply through resellers (unless the reseller offers it). Don't waste your time, don't waste the Lenovo representative's time, if you are calling about any account or billing issue with regards to a purchase you made through a reseller. Lenovo is only responsible for handling warranty repairs on that. Lenovo does not have any account with you if you bought from Office Depot, so don't end up looking like a complete idiot by calling in if you bought from a reseller, unless you're calling technical support about a technical support/warranty issue.
