I have the W520 with the FHD screen. Mostly I really like the screen. Though in some cases the colors seem over-saturated. Before I buy a color calibration device - I was wondering if there were any common color settings people recommend?

    Suggestions?

    Thanks!

I came across someone's color calibrated profile for the FHD screen and have been using it since because it was good. I've attached it to this post.

Not sure exactly where I got it from, but kudos to whoever it was.

Thanks for this. So, to install, I just right click on the profile and select install? I just did this and didn't notice anything different...

It's a bit more complicated than that.

    1. Copy it to C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color\
    2. Start > advanced color management.
    3. Advanced tab, Change system defaults
    4. Add Monitor_9-12-2011_1.
    5. Highlight it in the list, click Set as Default Profile.

You should notice the screen color change. Exit out of everything.

Make sure to disable all Intel graphics startup items in MSCONFIG, because it will reset the color profile setting.

Also, with this profile, I am able to ace (perfect) this visual test here:
