I have a nearly two-year-old T43, and have been having problems with the monitor lately. The problem is that, sometimes, when I go to use my laptop when the screensaver is on or (more commonly) when it's in sleep mode, the monitor won't turn on!

This doesn't happen every time, but it seems to be happening more frequently. Usually, I then have to use the power button to turn off the laptop and restart it; upon restart, the monitor comes on fine.

Originally, I thought the problem was maybe due to a faulty monitor on/off switch or something, but I don't think that's the problem because this happens sometimes when the laptop is open.

Has anyone had a similar problem or know what might be causing this? I'd really appreciate the help!

Did you recently update your video drivers?

It sounds like bad video drivers. Try going back to the stock drivers or the latest drivers on the Lenovo site.

BTW, I had the same problem with my G1S and returning to stock drivers fixed the problem immediately.
