    There are more options appearing for the T500. The P9500 and T9400 processors. More memory options and more OS options but still no more screens. :mad:
    Where are you LED backlight?

    On which site do you see the additional options? I can't see them in the US webshop. I would love to get the P9500 processor but it's not an option. Only P8400, P8600 and T9500 show up.

    The site was the US retail site. BUT they are now gone. The memory also had 1.5 and 2.5 gb options. The mysteries of the Lenovo site continues. The XP options are still there. If the LED appears I'm ordering immediately before it disappears.

    Apparently, there is misinformation and prices that are supposed to be different on the American site. It's weird. Why can't they get their website correct?

    More options are appearing again. All five processors (including P9500 and T9400) are back along with multiple memory configurations. A few other changes in the optical drive area.
    Still no LED.

    In the two minutes it took to post, it changed back. Verrrrry strange. But I did save a PDF copy if there are any questions in the next 15 minutes before my bed time. :confused:

    If it is any help the new Dell M4400 offers a 1440x900 LED (15.4" model) and promises a 1920x1200" LED soon.

    If he needs a new computer in a month. Waiting for Lenovo is probably a not a good idea. Either forget the LED or change brands. Hummmmm quality build but not led vs others with LED.
    I'm not a Dell fan. I have fixed to many desktops and seen to many of the low end laptops. But some people love Buicks and some people hate them. ;)

    I'm not sure whether this is accurate or not, but an online Lenovo rep just told me via chat that the LED screens ARE coming to the T500/W500, but that they are backordered from the supplier. No timeframe on when to expect LED-backlit 15.4" screens, however. I sold my T41 a few weeks ago in anticipation of the new Thinkpads, and now I'm stuck without a laptop, but I'm willing to wait on these LEDs. Though they don't directly influence the display quality of the LCD itself, they will make the overall display look brighter (probably) and more even. I'm just hoping that reviews will indicate that Lenovo has done something to get higher-quality displays in the new Ts/Ws.

    Lenovo still uses the old announcement letter system from IBM that has been with IBM since the day of the mainframe. These letters are written by the product manager not by sales and show what will become available as opposed to what's in stock now. The T500 US announcement letter is at http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cg...=897/ENUS108-652&appname=lenovous&language=en. The T500 European announcement letter is at http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cg...NUSZG08-0439&appname=lenovoeurope&language=en

    About a fourth of the way down on the US link.

    391.1-mm (15.4-in) TFT LCD displays:

    * WXGA (1280 x 800)
    * WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050)
    * WUXGA (1920 x 1200)

    From what I can see in the prices section it is the W500 that comes with WUXGA. The T500 comes w either WXGA or WSXGA+.
