I'm now using the DisplayPort on my 27" QHD monitor, so I can't use it for my docked T450s as I had previously.

I plugged in a dual-link DVI cable, and I'm still only able to get 1920x1200, which surprised me.

What's the best strategy? DP-HDMI cable? But which one to exceed 1920x1080?

did you try updating the graphics driver?
Assuming you're using Windows, there might be setting you can toggle in Intel HD Graphics Control Panel.
