I recently bought lenovo thinkpad W550s laptop from US, currently i am situated in bangalore, India. After 1 day usage the display went off, i took it the lenovo service centre in bangalore, india. They kept the laptop with them for 1 day and said it is a mother board problem. They said that they have ordered for new mother board part and will replace it and would give intimate me once it is done. After 2 days when i called them they are saying that the mother board components are not available in india and they cant replace it. When i asked them how they ordered for new parts when it is not available in India, they are giving answers in defence mode, and trying to avoid me. I have two concerns here.

    1) After making lot of research and investing lot of money i bought the laptop becuse it has Internationational waranty. Still it ran into H/W issues with in 2 days of my usage.

    2) It has base warranty and ADP warranty for 3 years (IWS), but if i dont even get service it is truly disappointing and i am in dilemma on how to deal with this situation. Why cant lenovo india import laptop parts when i myself imported laptop from US?

Someone please guide me on how to resolve these issues?

I believe Lenovo's answer would be IWS is intended for travelers who occasionally bring their notebook overseas with them, not someone who buys the notebook here, to take advantage of the better pricing, then bring it overseas permanently, which is why they don't stock parts for notebooks sold in other markets.

As for how to get it fixed in India, I have no idea, but you might want to post over on the Lenovo Forums where someone might have a better idea. Good Luck.

The laptop is not available in India at all, so there is no such things as taking advantage of pricing. I bought it because of the brand, good reviews and IWS.

I feel your pain, but from Lenovo's perspective, it doesn't make sense to stock parts for a machine that's not sold there. Again, IWS was never intended for notebooks to be permanently transplanted to areas where it was not sold.

I really think you should post this over on the Lenovo forums and see what they've got to say. Best of luck.
