My W520 has probably faulty graphic card, so I assume that Lenovo will replace the whole board. Will I have to reinstall the whole system, or not?

If they're gonna use the same exact board (which I'm guessing they probably will) then you don't have to. You'll know anyway when you turn the laptop on for the first time. But my bet is you don't, windows will probably just install some driver on the toolbar for a few seconds and you're good to go. Well at least that's what I think.

    Hope this helps. Cheers. :)

I've had laptop motherboards replaced twice (although not on a Thinkpad) - and no re-install was necessary.

    Hope so!

if you are using vista or windows 7 then you would need to reactivate the OS.

Meaning sometimes Windows activation gets messed up with a new motherboard. Worst case scenario you are on the phone with Microsoft for like 5 minutes.
