If I press the mute button on my Lenovo T60 its muting the sound as it should. But if I press it again it doesn't activate the sound... I have to use on of the increase/decrease sound volume buttons...
Is that normal procedure for the Lenoto T-series ?

I have a T61 and my mute button does both mute (first press) and unmute (second press).

I've also installed the HotKeys driver/application. -
make sure you also install the system interface driver

Mine is same, mute mutes, but to unmute gotta use the volume key.
I thought its supposed to be that way, and I actually like it like that since I can't accidentally unmute...
I don't have any thinkvantage **** installed, except PowerManager and Hotkeys, to be able to turn wireless radios on/off -

I am currently trying to get my new T61 mute button fixed so it behaves like your T60.
I have a R31 (6+ years old ?) and a T42 (3+ years old) both behave like your T60 (mute is ONLY supposed to MUTE ) if you read the help it says (in bold ) press volume up or down to turn sound back on.
I have owned Various ThinkPads for over 12 years and that is one feature I Love/NEED.
Being able to hit the mute button at any point and KNOW the sound is OFF.
if I'm in a meeting and I need to start my computer, I don't have to wait until the system is booted to look at a little icon (if a startup program decides you need to "HEAR" it start, its to late).
as for it being a driver issue, I dual boot(ed) the R31,T42, and T61 (Mandrake Linux/Xp(R31), Mandrake/Ubuntu/Xp(T42), Ubuntu/Xp(T61) and the the mute button behavior doesn't change regardless of what os is running.
As well if you hit the mute button before the os starts to load you'll see the same behavior. -
I'd like to get the Mute 'always' function on my T61. On all my previous Thinkpads the Mute button only mutes, but now my T61 when I press twice the Mute button it unmutes again, I find it bothering. Is there a fix?
