    Hi all,

I just wanted to share my experience with Thinpadworld.

I live in the UK, and have always been intrested in Thinkpads. last month I decided to take the plunge and buy a thinkpad. I looked at the various models on UK websites and found the model that seemed best to suite my needs. It was the Thinkpad T61P DVU. However these were retailing for daft prices which I couldn't really justify.

I decided to look on America ebay and came across Thinkpadworld. I then found the exact model I was looking at nearly half the price. I decided to e-mail them and enquire about the item with questions such as shipping, Power issues, Tax and packaing. I had doubts and concerns about buying from the US. Infact I e-mailed them numerous times before buying.

Everytime I e-mailed they replied within in a day (bear in mind the time difference in the UK) Thats pretty good. I even e-mailed at 9.00pm UK time which I guessed was 4.00 US time and got a reply in ten minutes. Everytimre they were helpful to my numerous e-mails.

I then purchased the item direct from paypal on Thursday night. for about 900 pounds. The item shipped 3 working days later with overnight UPS Delivery and I got it on the following (even clearing customs) Wednesday. Thinkpad world e-mailed me a rough shipping date and also when it was shipped with a tracking number. I had to pay a little tax which is expected and can make the price a bit morem but that's not Thinkpadworl just rip off Britain.

I cannot tell you have chuffed I'am with it. The only problem I had was the touchpad it turned out that as Thinkpadworld fitted 4gb Memory they didn't connect the ultranav back up. It did take ages to figure it out but these things happen. Nothing a screw driver can't fix.

There's no power issues as the PSU auto senses and the only other gripe is that there is no pound sign on the keyboard but I'm sure I can figure something out.

Overall I'm very impressed with Thinkpad world and would buy again from them. I know everyone has different experiences with them but I found them really helpful, great communication and fast shipping. It also is supposed to come with a warranty here in the UK. Hopefully I won't have to use it as I don't keep my notebooks longer than three years but it's meant to be their if I needed.

I'm a big Computer user as I work with them as an I.T professional. My thinkpad is on 10 hours a day for use with active directory, DHCP office apps, vmware and my personal use such as music and dvd's. I have used numerous PC's etc. I love the thinkpad as much as my Mac and don't regret it one bit.

    Well done Thinkpadworld
